A Poem

I have a poem for you all to read. This is very random but I hope you enjoy it!

A Poem "All About Farts"
A fart can be quiet, a fart can be loud, Some leave a powerful, poisonous cloud...
A fart can be short or a fart can be long, Some farts have been known to sound just like a song...
A fart can create a most curious medley, A fart can be harmless or silent but deadly...
A fart might not smell, while others are vile, A fart may pass quickly, or linger awhile...
A fart can occur in a number of places, and leave everyone with strange looks on their faces...
From the wide open prairie to small elevators, A fart will find all of us sooner or later...
But not all farts are bad, this is simply not true-We mustn't forget dear old sweet farts like YOU!!!

So I found this poem on a birthday card at Target and I burst out laughing right in the store so I just had to buy it:) Maybe someone will get it for their birthday...HAHA!!

Free as Last, Free as Last

I'm FREE!!! I am officially done with school until Aug. 20th!!!!! These last 11 weeks have been the longest of my life. Summer classes are so much shorter but I feel its the same amount of work. Even though it was stressful, I am now officially halfway finished with my master's degree and I have completed 18 credits since January...not too bad:) I almost feel like I have all this free time and nothing to do with it. But I am sure I can find something to do:) I am leaving on Friday morning for West Palm Beach until Monday and its exactly what I need, a long weekend away at the beach with one of my best friends. I can come home and not have to think about school so I will really be able to relax! I am home for 10 days and then off to NY for my annual summer trip. I am looking forward to seeing my parents and my friends in NY. So I will be busy for the next few weeks but at least I don't have to be busy with school for once and can enjoy some of my summer because the last 11 weeks, I haven't done much except work and schoolwork.

I am hoping to catch up on some scrapbooking during my mini break from school and hopefully just being lazy and doing nothing:)

1 down, 2 to go

Only one week left until summer classes are over!!! I just finished up one of my classes by handing in my very last assignment. I only have 3 assignments left to hand in by next Thursday at 7 pm. Believe me, I am on a mission and my assignments will be in as soon as possible. I only am working a half day tomorrow so when I get home, I will begin the rest of my work. My final exam for my Foundations of Health Education class will not be available until Monday morning so as long as I get my 2 other assignments done before then, I will be in good shape. And of course, if I just had finals then life would be much simpler but no I also have to work all day on Saturday (Padoodles and with Ry) and 2 interviews after work next week plus I am leaving for West Palm Beach next Friday at 6 am so I also have to pack as well. And of course, my house has been ignored with me being so busy that I really need to clean and do laundry...oh the list never ends...At least I am known for multitasking and I can get ALOT accomplished when I am on a mission. I just keeping telling myself that the sooner I get my work done, the sooner I can relax and enjoy my next 3 weeks before fall classes begin, ugh and then it all begins again...well at least after July 31, I will be HALFWAY finished with my master's degree...there is a light at the end of the tunnel.......:)

Busy but Fun Weekend

I can't believe it has been 6 days since I last blogged! I guess time flies when you are busy!!! So much has been going on, I can't keep track of everything. I had Saturday and Sunday off this weekend (No Padoodles!) but I still was crazy busy and barely home. I got up at 5:45 am on Saturday to go over to my sister's and go walking with her. She is training for a 60 mile breast cancer walk and I am training for my second half marathon. So we walked 5 miles in 1 and 1/2 hours...not too bad. Then I went back to her house and showered to get ready for my niece, Linsey's 5th birthday party! It was fun but after they all left, it was nice for some peace and quiet! I stayed for a little bit longer and then I came home. I was tired and I ended up taking a 2 hour nap, it was great!!! Jill and I got groceries and then I attempted to finish an assignment for Monday (and I just handed it in, good thing it wasn't due until midnight tonight!!)! Sunday was full as well. I went indoor rock climbing with my friends Lacey and Michelle. It was alot of fun! I am afraid of heights and since I have never done this, I was a bit unsure but once I got up there once, I didn't even think about the height after that! It probably helped that I was hooked to rope and I knew I wouldn't free fall and get hurt!! I did get some things done last night like laundry but I was in bed by 9:30 because 5:45 comes very quickly the next morning.

I have been getting up at 5:45am at least 3x/week to go running when it is cooler and this way I can come home after work and do other things like HOMEWORK and stuff around the house. And since I only have TEN DAYS left of my summer classes, I am swamped with work. Getting up at 5:45am is the only way I can get my exercise in and it also increases my productivity throughout the rest of the day. I was always complaining that I never had enough time in the day and now I do. The only downfall is I get less sleep but oh well, I can sleep when I am dead (or on weekends...lol)!!!!

Here are some pictures from Linsey's birthday and indoor rock climbing...ENJOY!!

Linsey, I can't believe she's 5!!!

Getting ready to blow out her candles...MAKE A WISH!

I think I am just hanging here!

Up I go!

Stupidity...it bugs me!

Ok, so I am an avid reader and I read the newspaper everyday and also keep up with the news via the internet. And not only do I keep up with the news in Raleigh but in upstate New York as well. So there is a website, newzjunky.com, that lets me know all the stuff that is happening in the area where I grew up. So I was reading newz junky and I was reading about this car accident on Interstate 81 about a 2 year old girl getting killed. I felt sorry for the family until it noted that little girl was thrown from the vehicle BECAUSE she was not restrained in her car seat. Hello, all children should be restrained in a car while driving, AT ALL TIMES!! I am sorry but people are morons, the mother basically killed her own daughter because she did not buckle her in. I guess she learned her lesson a bit too late and her daughter was killed because of her own stupidity.

Another story I read was local, a woman was killed in a motorcycle accident and she wasn't wearing a helmet. I don't care if its a law or not (it should be in ALL states but unfortunately it is not), you should ALWAYS wear a helmet. Another example of pure stupidity and she lost her life because of it.

So a jogger was found murdered here and this hits close to home for me because I am a runner and I go running by myself in the morning. I am always very aware of my surroundings and even though I run with my ipod, its on very low volume and with only one earplug in so I know what's going on around me. I am actually going to get pepper spray as well so if anyone messes with me, they will be very sorry!!! Ok, back to my story. She left at 7 am and did not return by 9 as she had said to her husband. But she was not reported missing until 3 pm by a friend because she hadn't shown up for a get together. She wasn't even reported missing by her husband. I can understand if he had left the house before she would have returned but he was home the whole time!! He said they were having marital problems but she would never leave her 2 girls. Then if he knew that why the hell did he not report her missing?? Probably because he did it. They found the body about 3 miles from her house in an underdeveloped subdivision. The body could not have been well hidden because it was found by a man and his dog. Whoever did this doesn't seem to be very intelligent, you should at least hide a body better than that. And I only know this because I love crime shows and reading true crime stories but I mainly because I just think about how stupid people are. Seriously, if you don't want to be married to someone anymore, just leave them, don't kill them. No one is worth spending your life in prison or getting the death penalty. And if you have children, why make them grow up without either parents, one was murdered the other one is in prison for the murder. HELLO MORONS, use some common sense.

Ok, I think I am done, I hope everyone has learned very important lessons from my blog. Use common sense, otherwise its going to come back and bite you in the ass!!!

One Emotional Day

Today has been an emotional day for me. First off, my oldest niece, Jordyn turned 8 today. It seems like yesterday she was born and she is now 8 and in the third grade. Second, my youngest niece started kindergarden today:( I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by! I remember holding Linsey when she was just a few hours old and now she started kindergarden! It wasn't bad when Jorydn went off to k-garden because we knew Kalli and Linsey still had to go and now the last one is finally in school full time:( My babies are growing up too fast! My sister said she was very excited this morning but I called to wish Jordyn and Happy Birthday and Linsey good luck and I was tearing up! I cannot imagine what I will do when my last child goes to kindergarden, I'll be like the Niagara Falls!

Its Thursday!

Yeah, its Thursday! The week is almost over:) Its been an okay week. I have been busy with school this week as well as work and of course, looking for a new job. I applied for a position at UNC, doing research in the health field... keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!!!

Ry has been a little cranky and clingy this week because he is getting his final set of 18 month molars in! The littlest things are setting him off. He is very independent and does not like to ask for help. For instance, we went to Southpoint today and he had Chik-Fil-A for lunch and he got chocolate milk with his meal. Of course they had run out of bendable straws and I had to put in a regular straw. I tried to help him understand to hold the milk upright but he wanted to no part in that!! And of course he spilled chocolate milk all over himself. When he went to drink the milk again I try to warn him but I got "I can do it" and of course he spilled his milk again. The third time he understood what to do. Live and Learn!! He took a great nap today but we did have a little meltdown over juice. His parents do not want him to have juice after lunch and since likes juice so much, this is becoming a problem. He asked for some after nap and I gave him water. He got upset with me and threw it across the table. I admonished him and he was ok until his tv show was over and he just started crying. I kept asking what was wrong and he told me he wanted juice. I, of course said no and he cried for about 5 minutes until I told him no matter how much he cried, he still wasn't going to have juice, only water. Well then he gave up and went to play....unfortunately, this is not over, he will try and wear me or his mommy and daddy down but we will not give in!!!!

So only 21 days until my summer classes are over!!! WOOHOO!! I am swamped with homework, papers, projects and quizzes. These have felt like the longest 8 weeks ever but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

On an exciting note, my classes end the 31st and I leave the next morning for West Palm Beach...so excited!!! My very close friend, Zach just moved there last month and was supposed to be there a few years but it looks like now he will be moving somewhere else and it definitely won't be as tropical! So we talked about it and I booked my flight on Tuesday morning. I am counting the days and it can't come at a better time. With everything that's been going on over the past month, I am in desperate need for a break and there's no better place to relax than at the beach:) So this means I need to crack down and increase my exercise. I already do 5x/week for 30-45 minutes which I will increase to 6x/week plus more toning exercises. I have look smokin in my bikini, I definitely don't want to stick out like a sore thumb on the beach. The people down there make a living looking good!!!

So July seems to be going better, still have yet to find a job but its not because lack of trying. Its hard to be patient but I know something will come along soon. Its been a month since Brandon passed away and I can finally listen to a song or see a picture of him without crying, that's improvement over the past few weeks. Anyways, I think I have rambled on enough......

Procrastination

OK, so I am definitely procrastinatiing right now. I should be writing a paper that is due Monday but I am not. I have been working on it since 4 or so and I only have 4 sentences completed and it should be 5-7 pages. I will get it done, its not due until 11:59 pm on Monday night and I have plenty of time to get it done. I can't believe that me of all people is writing about how she procrastinates. For those of you who knew me in high school and in undergrad, I was NOT a procrastinator. I was the girl who had all of her work done ahead of time and I was never stressed. In high school, I was labeled a prep and a nerd (thanks Zach). In community college, I was the same way but then I had to juggle school and work. I did a great job of it and always had my work done way ahead of time. I was the same way while I was at Oswego too. The difference at Oswego was I had to get my work done so I could go out and party. Friday nights was happy hour 6-10 and sadly, my housemates and I arranged out Friday schedules to accomodate it. We were always the first ones there (the bartenders knew us by our drinks and eventually learned our names). We sat at the bar until 10 and then went next door for drunken pizza and garlic knots. Sometimes we went on to other bars and the rest of time we were home and passed out by 11!!! Saturdays were sometimes the same as Fridays and sometimes we just hung at home and drank and watched movies. My last semester in Oswego was when I really partied. I wanted to live up my last semester in college and I did. I worked 20 hours a week at the Health Center, took 19 credit hours and went out every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday almost every week! There were many nights that I was up til 4am and then back up at 8 and gone all day!! Sometimes I wonder how I ever made it to class and work and wonder even more how I graduated with a 3.6! And today, I am a huge procrastinator who waits until the last minute to do her work. I don't even have time to party anymore between of my full time job and grad school, how in the world did I find the time to party in Oswego?!?! If I did today what I did at Oswego, I would be dead within 2 days!! I would never make it to work if I went to bed at 4am and I would be passed out by 5pm!

Ok, enough procrastinating...back to my paper.

One Sad day for Hurricanes Fans

Erik Cole

I am so bummed. My all time favorite hockey player, Erik Cole got traded to the Edmonton Oilers....hmph! For those of you who don't me well, I am a HUGE hockey fan and I LOVE the Carolina Hurricanes. Erik grew up in Oswego, NY and it just so happens, that is where I went to college so I have been following him for awhile. He's a great player and the Oilers are lucky to have him. I do hope the Oilers give him a good welcoming considering he was a key player in the last 2 games of the 2006 Stanley Cup against the Oilers and my fellow hockey fans know that the Canes were the 2006 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!!!!! Ah, memories!

Mom, Dad, Trish, Rob and I...GO CANES!!!

July seems to be off to a much better start! Even though I had to get my car fixed today and more was wrong with it than expected, it still was better than my whole month of June combined! I also found out some very interesting information. As you know, I was a nutritionist and Assistant Manager at LA Weight Loss until April of 2007. I was treated horribly and I lost all the respect for the company, my manager(s) and the regional managers. I was miserable there. I finally quit after putting up with their BS forever and then I became Ry's nanny. So one of the girls I used to work with called me today and she had found out some very interesting information. She had not received her W2 and she called the center we used to work at and she found out that our manager and regional mangers were no longer with the company. The company was in trouble last year when I left even though no one would admit it. Well, I guess they were really in trouble. The centers in Raleigh and surrounding areas were all franchised owned and in my opinion not run very well at all. So she called the company headquarters and the number was disconnected! Finally, a girl she knew from the center called her back and explained that LA Weight Loss was bought out by Corporate and they got rid of some people who were not an asset to the company and they even closed all the centers in the area except 2!! All I can say is I left at the right time (and so did my friend) and I am finally something was done about the the managers in that company, they needed to be fired! That news made my whole day. Revenge is so sweet!
