Ok, so Hurricane Hanna never strengthened into a hurricane but we still got the effects of her. She made landfall early Saturday morning on the NC/SC border and moved inland. The eye of storm was about 30 miles east of us. We mainly just got heavy rain (over 5 inches in Raleigh) and some wind. Some places did have minor flooding including my side yard and sidewalk but the rain had stopped by noon and the sun was out by 2. At that time, you would never know with the exception of some minor flooding that we were even affected by a tropical storm. Jill and I went shopping on Saturday morning and did some errands while everything was quiet. It was like a ghost town and by the time we finished, people were just getting out and about. Overall, it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, oh well!
This was my first full weekend at home since July and was nice to chill out and not have anything (except schoolwork, of course) to do. I took a nap both Saturday and today and just hung around. Last night I did print some pictures and it put me one step closer to putting out new pictures and moving some stuff around. I also did some homework for grad school and become certified via East Carolina University to do human subject research (a requirement for my Qualitative Health Research class).
Overall, it was a nice relaxing weekend at home and will probably be the last one I have for awhile. Ah, the life of a full time professional and grad school student!
